Cycling to work is a great way for people to get, and stay, fit and healthy. For businesses, a healthier workforce means higher productivity, reduced absenteeism and improved punctuality. The Cycle to Work Guarantee is a voluntary initiative from the Department for Transport, challenging businesses to become cycle friendly employers by making it easy for staff to cycle to and from work. By signing up, your business can signal its commitment by providing the facilities and incentives to help your workforce become healthier, greener and more productive. To date more than 280 organisations have signed up. Many of these organisations are NBTN members. If you haven’t already signed up, please visit the websites to find out more: www.nbtn.org.uk/cycle.aspx and www.cycletoworkguarantee.org.uk.
NBTN is delighted about the success of the scheme and we are continuing to promote it through the series of our regional workshops starting on 10 February and currently running through to 30 March. NBTN members were informed of these last week and are already booking on to them. Additional information about the workshops can be found here: www.nbtn.org.uk/events and it is worth mentioning that these workshops are free for NBTN members.
To support the scheme and provide all the necessary information, Cycle to Work Toolkits have been produced. They will be handed out at our regional workshops. Alternatively, you can find them here:
